You may have the ring but I have the man

Basketball Wives makes my skin crawl. So does What Chilli Wants. I did tune in to Basketball Wives for season 1 but I can't stomach season 2. The way those women behave disgusts me and devalues everything I enjoy about relationships. I have never tuned in to What Chilli wants. I say that to say this, it is hard enough being a single black female. We always have to hear about what's wrong with us as to why we don't have a man. And these shows make that all the more awful. Almost as though there is no hope for obtaining an enjoyable relationship and family with your significant other. They were only married to or in relationships with ballers because of the money and the big life. And if you know me at all, you would know that I appreciate people more than things.

I don't care about any surveys or statistics or news reports. I want what I want regardless of odds. And to see these grown women parading around flashing their wedding rings in the faces of groupies makes my stomach turn. The wives may have the rings and things, but the groupies have the actual man. If I ever got married, it definitely would not be to prove anything to everyone else. I am more concerned about being with the man than the material possessions I can get. One of my friends even told me that I go out with broke bums because I am looking for "love" which is so true. I'm going to leave you with two quotes, 1) the guy is more important than the ring and 2) the marriage is more important than the wedding.

  2. I really agree! Those statics on Black women are pathetic and a bunch of lies. I really like to know if they actually interviewed women or even follow these women around. Because I know for a fact that black women would not willing be interviewed so that scientist can shout out to the world that we are the highest rate of women to be single and unwed....BULLCRAP!
p.s I like your hair, and your blog:)

  3. Thanks so much ladies, I like your hair too. And black women are not at all the highest rate of women to be single. If there are more white women than black women in the country then it's impossible for black women to be the highest rate single and unwed. Most of those surveys are done by men and are just to make us feel like not having a man is our fault. Any way, thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed.

  6. There is ONE thing that distinguishes your from these other women flashing and parading around with their wedding rings, and that's REALNESS. All material things fade, I recently posted a blog about "luxuries" that I have been afforded, but they are not materialistic. Check it out if you'd like. Real Housewives is an OXYMORON...there is absolutely nothing real about these women who wear make-up 24/7 (<----& this is coming from some one who LOVES makeup). I've said enough, I'm gone!:)

  8. I totally agree, parents and society are the problem. Girls are taught from a young age nowadays to only bother with the man who has some type of status and lot's of money. Not understanding that it is important to find someone you love and adore then build with them.

Sadly this how they are being taught from a very young age.
