The Softest Wash

During my natural hair transition, I have worn my hair in many different protective styles, mostly braids. I am currently wearing my hair in kinky twists. I wash my hair every two to three weeks while wearing these protective styles. In between styles, I always give my hair an extra good wash and scrub. I have been using Shea Moisture products after watching quite a few youtube videos on them. I was using the African Black Soap shampoo for dry scalp along with the partner conditioner. This time, however, I decided to use the Moisture Retention Shampoo along with the Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie.

When I say my hair has never been so soft in my life, I couldn't believe it. My hair type is a 4C, or whatever the tightest curl pattern classification is. I wish I had those soft loose curls, but I don't. This shampoo made my hair feel amazing and soft to the touch. My hair tends to be very dry and crunchy and difficult to manage, but these two products made my hair soft enough for the pick on my blow dryer to stay in place.

My big chop was on December 18, 2010 and I have been completely natural for 8 months now. My hair is still not as full as I would like it to be, but it is growing very fast. This shampoo also made my scalp feel cleaner and not itchy at all; much more that the African Black Soap shampoo did. The Moisture Retention Shampoo gets an A+ from me. It can be purchased at Target for $9.99 and at Walgreens for about $12.99.
