Happy Halloween!!!!!

October 31, 1996 was the first night we (me, my mom, and sister) slept in our first house. Fifteen years later we are still here together in the same house that boasts most of my life's best memories. We have celebrated birthdays and holidays and numerous family functions here. We have created some traditions and done away with some, but we still have each other.

I love Halloween. The costumes, the candy, the parties. My mom used to take me and my older cousin out trick or treating when we were little. I have tons of pictures from my childhood days of bumble bee, pumpkin and ninja costumes. My favorite Halloween was when I was about 7 or 8 and my mom didn't have enough money to get me a costume. So she found some African fabric around the house, wrapped me up and pinned me in it and wrapped it around my head and told me I was an African Princess this year. Then she took me to the Garden State Plaza to go trick or treating. It didn't even matter to me that it wasn't a "real" costume, I was just so thrilled to be wearing her lipstick and big chunky necklace.

Happy Halloween Sweeties!!!!!! Be safe and have fun!!!!!

  1. Thanks for sharing your childhood memories of Halloween with everyone. It made me reminisce about my childhood Halloween costumes. Great post!
