Women's Rights??? or Women's Worth?!?

Even though I love the President and the First Family, I am not a big fan of politics at all. I feel like politicians are very wealthy individuals who have the money and popularity to influence the masses. With that said, I am absolutely floored with the attack against women that is currently taking place in the United States. The Republican Party is known for "less government" as in less government funded programs like welfare, social security, etc. However, they have used Catholic principles to "govern" what women do behind closed doors. The laws that have been made against birth control and abortions have my mind blown! A panel of ALL MEN discussing the use of birth control has my head spinning!! The allowance of a mandatory vaginal probe before the abortion procedure is beyond awful and disgusting!!! My first reaction to this wave of madness is, "how do Republicans expect to win an election after upsetting 53% of the population?!?" meaning women. The story of the grad student that Rush Limbaugh called a "slut, whore" where her friend was on birth control for a cyst on her ovary and could not afford to take birth control anymore because of the new laws hurts me deeply. Now, the cyst grew so large that she had to have surgery to get it removed, and as a result she cannot have children at all......AT ALL!!!! How invasive and disgusting can law makers be?!?!? How can someone make that decision for someone else?!? That young lady has now been deprived of ever having a family because of some obscene law.

After assessing what is going on in the country I live in, I had to ask myself "what exactly is going on here?"
Is this a matter of violating woman's rights or determining women's worth??? In China, the One Child policy required that if your first born was a girl, she had to be killed. In India (many years ago), if your husband died his body would be burned and you as the wife had to jump in the fire with your husband's dead body because without your husband, you no longer have any use. A recent story in Cambodia, a 16 year old committed suicide after she was forced to marry her rapist. I have also learned that in India, if a woman is raped, she is killed because she is now tainted and of no use to a man, while the rapist roams free. So apparently, women have been fighting for their rights and their worth all over the world. And as far as we have come, law makers want to move backwards and take away what has been worked so hard for.

In my opinion, if it was up to the Republican party every woman in this country would be barefoot and pregnant cooking and cleaning, and every Black person would be in shackles and on cotton fields. America as a country is about 2 things: money and freedom. The only reason anyone would leave their country of origin and migrate to the US is for freedom and "opportunity" meaning the ability to make money. Violations against Blacks are one thing....but you DO NOT want to piss of the White Woman!!!! That's like a death wish. I can only hope and pray for the future of this country. Despite the "Re-Nig" bumper stickers, I hope Americans have more sense than to allow the immoral Catholic Church and racist Republican Party to determine anything about our future.
