Love and Hip Hop - Atlanta

I have only watched the first episode of  Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. *SIGH* My thoughts.......I hated it!!! Everything about the show is such a bootleg version of New York (Jersey).  Scrappy's mother is a fake mama Jones. K. Michelle is like Olivia. Karlie Reid is like Somaya. Mimi and Stevie J are like Jim Jones and Chrissy, minus the disrespect. I found the show corny and redundant. The only normal person on the show is Mimi's friend. Everyone else needs to go find something to do with themselves. I could go on and on about how much I hate the show, but that defers from the point I want to get to. The main story line in the show, and what has caused an uproar, is Mimi and Stevie J's "relationship". They have been together for 15 years, have children together, but they are not married or even engaged. The uproar comes from, in the first episode Stevie bought Mimi a house (mansion) over an hour away from his studio so he can continue to fool around "while at work". The first episode ended with a friend telling Mimi that Stevie J was someone else's man. Then Stevie proceeds to walk in with his other "woman" and sit across from his mate of 15 years.

Now my issue is the blogs have blown up at Mimi and how she is at fault for allowing Stevie J to disrespect her. There is no way (no way) I would place the primary blame on Mimi!!! Yes, as far as society is concerned, women are always at fault for the awful things men say and do. That's like saying women in abusive relationships are to blame because she probably said or did something the man didn't like, and in turn he physically abused her. I place the primary blame on Stevie for not even thinking about having the respect for the mother of his children. Not even the thought to say "she has put up with me for 15 years" just a complete and utter lack of appreciation and gratefulness.

I was disgusted at the first episode and the season to come. There is now way I could watch and participate in the blatant foolishness and embarrassment that the cast is putting themselves through.
