Groovin in the Park

This past Sunday, I spent my entire day in Roy Wilkins Park in Queens NY. I did not attend Grovvin in the Park last summer, but I couldn't miss it this year. I heard the ad on the radio and Beres Hammond was on the line up. Now most Jamaican (American) people love love love Beres Hammond. He just has hit after hit after hit. He has fans from all ages that know every single song word for word. Also on the line up was Marcia Griffiths, Miss Electric Slide. Other great performers were Ken Boothe, Judy Mowat, Air Supply, and my new fave Chronixx.

The weather was great all day, not a drop of rain. The crowd was great. Everyone brought their own tail gate chairs and set up stall in the shade. The food was delish. I had jerk pork with ketchup and a two festival. Each performer had good set times, not too long not too short. I went with my mom, our cousin and her boyfriend and grand daughter. We danced, we sang, we ate and had a grand old time. I want to do it all over again. My mom even kept saying every weekend should be like this. If the line up is good next year, I will definitely be in attendance. All around, I was very entertained.
