I just got back from another wonderful family vacation in Negril, Jamaica. I only stayed for a week in an effort to preserve my PTO days from work. I arrived on the day of my mother's 50th birthday party. It was at the Negril Hills Golf Club, a beautiful venue. My aunt decorated the hall in gold and white, and 175+ guests were in attendance. Family from New York, Georgia, and even England flew down to celebrate my mom's birthday. My dad who hasn't been to Jamaica in 20 years even came for 5 days to help out and celebrate.
Everyone looked fabulous, especially my mom. Her dress was from Bloomingdale's and it was nothing short of a red carpet moment. The food was delicious and the drinks were flowing like water. My mom gave a great "thank you" speech to a handful of key people in her life. She thanked her best friend of 40 years, my dad for being such a great father, her brother and sister, two of her closest cousins, and of course me and my sister for being the loves of her life.
After we blessed the food, said her thank you's and cut the cake it was party time!!!! From the front to the back, the entire crowd was on their feet. My mom was being pulled in every direction for hugs and pictures. My friend did a fabulous job with my mom's make up. We danced the night away and even went to a beach party after mommy's party. I had the time of my life. I saw family that I haven't seen in years. My mom had the best birthday party ever.
